On Thursday, October 05, 2017, Vice Rector - Prof. Dr. Phan Tuan Nghia had a meeting with the delegation from the Wiley Publishing Inc., leading by Ms. Yelena Parada-Rajmankina - Associate Director for International Development and Mr. Robert Long - President of Wiley Asia. Accompanying were the representatives of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Minh Duc - Head of International Relations & Administration Office and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Binh - Head of Science & Technology Office, VNU University of Science.

At the meeting, the representative of Wiley - Ms. Yelena would like to understand the University's priorities for researcher education and share Wiley's experience on building research capabilities. The Associate Director shared that over the past years, Wiley has been working globally to strengthen the capacity of scientists, not only to help them publish better but to improve their abilities in the actual practice of research. Up skilling of the research workforce to ensure competencies in broad-based areas such as scientific integrity and data management will drive dynamic, internationally competitive research enterprise. Like many publishers, Wiley offers author training workshops and find that these are in great demand. However, it is difficult to scale the workshop model to all members of the research community and time constraints mean coverage is usually limited to the basics of writing the paper. Therefore, the Wiley Researcher Academy (WRA) has been developed as a comprehensive, scalable online learning programme to help early career and experienced researchers develop their communication skills and become more successful in publishing in high impact journals. Wiley believes that the Wiley Researcher Academy could support the University's efforts in the development of research capabilities to drive continued growth in the quality and quantity of research outputs.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice - Rector of VNU- HUS would like to thank for useful information about WRA and invites the Wiley to attend the workshop for scientists, lectures, and students at VNU-HUS to share experience on publishing and introduce about the Wiley Researcher Academy (WRA).

The meeting has opened many opportunities for cooperation and development between the two sides in the future.
