On Wednesday, October 04, 2017, Rector of the VNU University of Science - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Noi had a meeting with the delegation from the Harbin Institute of Technology leading by Mr. GU Jianzheng - Head of HIT's International Education Division, Director of Office of Admissions and Career Counseling - Ms. SHAO Wei and Ms. Zhao Lin, Deputy Director. Accompanying the Rector were the representatives of Dr. Nguyen Minh Hai - Deputy Head of International Relations & Administration Office, VNU University of Science and Dr. Vi Anh Tuan - Deputy Principal of the High School for Gifted Students.
At the meeting, the representative of Harbin Institute of Technology - Mr. GU Jianzheng introduces about the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) which is a technical institute in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, China. Harbin Institute of Technology is one of the leading universities in China. It was ranked 9th in China in 2008 according to Netbig. Its strength is training of airspace industry. The purpose of the visit has been that the HIT would like to have the students exchange program with the VNU-HUS such as offers some scholarships for excellence students from the High School for Gifted Students to come to study in the institute. Moreover, the Harbin Institute of Technology would like to invite the Rector and Principal to come to Harbin City to join the ASEAN Principal Conference in December 21, 2017.
Speaking at the meeting, the Rector of VNU-HUS thanks to the invitation and would like to suggest to expand cooperation between two universities such as holding scientific seminars together in Vietnam and China and focus on not only student exchange programs (short and long terms), but also faculty, research then go further to sign the MOU.
The meeting has opened many opportunities for cooperation and development between the two sides in the future.
