Signing ceremony between the VNU University of Science and Hanyang University (Korea)

On 15 November 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Noi – Rector of the VNU University of Science had a meeting with Prof. Young Moo Lee - President of Hangyang University (Korea) for signing the MOU between two universities.

On 15 November 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Noi – Rector of the VNU University of Science had a meeting with Prof. Young Moo Lee - President of Hangyang University (Korea) for signing the MOU between two universities. The signing ceremony between the VNU University of Science (HUS) and the Hanyang University was held at the main campus of VNU-HUS under the witness of the Broad of Rectors, Heads of administration offices, members and staff from both of two sides.

The main content of the MOU focus on joining research in the fields of mutual interest to the institutions; exchanging of faculty, research personnel and students between the institutions for research and study; exchanging of faculty and staff members for participation in conferences, seminars and workshops; exchanging of materials in education, research, publications and academic information.

Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Noi - Rector of VNU-HUS stressed on the long-term cooperation between two Universities then the MOU will be the foundation for the two sides to develop cooperation in the future.

Dr. Nguyen Minh Hai - Deputy Head of Office of International Relations and Administration had a brief introduction about the VNU-HUS. Morover, two sides discuss more about outstanding achievements of the VNU-HUS for deeply understanding the research fields of the University.

At the end of the visit, the President of Hanyang University - Prof. Young Moo Lee took note at the Golden Book of the VNU-HUS that: “It is my great honor to visit VNU University of Science. I wish to have future collaboration with VNU University of Science and Hanyang University in many fields of science.”

Hanyang University is a private research university in South Korea. The main campus is in Seoul, and the second one, the Education Research Industry Cluster at Ansan, or ERICA campus, is located in Ansan. The university established the nation's first engineering institute (DongA Engineering Institute) in 1939 which became the founding facility of Hanyang University. It also established the first school of architecture and civil engineering in Korea. In 2015, Hanyang was ranked 1st for the number of CEO alumni of venture companies. In 2017, QS ranked Hanyang University 155th in '2017 QS World University Rankings'.

The university enrolls over 2,000 foreign students each year and more than 3,000 students study abroad annually. HYU counts the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Cambridge, and Tsinghua University among its 735 partner universities in 74 countries (hanyang.ac.kr.).
