On December 12th, 2019, the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) held the closing ceremony of the 169th AUN-QA program-level assessment.
The AUN-QA assessment was undertaken for the Bachelor of Computer and Information science programs (Faculty of Mathematics, Mechanics and Informatics) at VNU-HUS. The assessors presented preliminary reports at the ceremony, including assessments of the merits of the training programs and recommendations for improvements.
Overview of the closing ceremony
A panel of quality accreditation experts from AUN attended the closing ceremony, including: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Kay Chuan, Prof. Dr. Rosemary Seva, Prof. Dato’ Ir. Riza Atiq Abdullah bin O.K Rahmat, Mr. Casey Barnett, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kiran Kaur, Dr. Amelia P. Geuvara, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anan Mungwattana, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gerardo Largoza and Ms. Supatcha Supapant. Representatives from VNU included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, the Vice President, Representatives of Offices and Functional Departments, the Director of Institute for Educational Quality Assurance, the Board of Rectors of VNU-HUS, VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities and officers of the programs that are seeking accreditation.

At the closing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Kay Chuan - Chief Assessors acknowledged the efforts that the participating units made in preparation for the accreditation and extended thanks for the welcome by VNU and member universities.
Experiencing the intense 2 days evaluation by the External Assessor Team with stakeholders, at the closing ceremony, experts gave a general assessment of the strengths and points of improvement of the programs.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai - Vice President of VNU, said: "The assessment results are highly appreciated by the leaders of the institutions having the programs assessed. I strongly believe that the assessors’ comments and recommendations will provide guidelines for these programs to improve their quality and aslo will inform other education programs as to how to enhance their quality as well”. The Vice President thanked the AUN-QA External Assessor Team, all the staffs, lecturers, students, alumni, and employees who participated enthusiastically and cooperated in the assessment.
The assessment of the programs at VNU-HUS took place between the 10th and 12th December 2019. During this time, AUN-QA specialists spent time conducting in-depth interviews with all parties involved in the accredited audit program, including faculty and department heads, faculty staffs, support staffs, students, alumni and employees to obtain multi-dimensional information for evaluation.
