On September 29, 2022, Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son, Vice Rector, leaders of the Department for Cooperation & Development and representatives of the Faculty of Biology and Faculty of Chemistry had a meeting with SK Group, Korea.

Within the framework of the meeting, Mr. Koh Jong Hwan  on behalf of SK Group expressed his wish to seek high-quality human resources and develop specific training programs for the company's project in the fields of: Bio Health Care, clean energy and semiconductor electronics.

According to Mr. Kok Jong Hwan, SK Group wishes to cooperate with VNU-HUS to find talented candidates who will be offered training in Korea in the field of biological health care. They will be the core human resource for the Group's development in Vietnam in the future. Besides, Mr. Kok Jong Hwan also hoped to cooperate with VNU-HUS in developing a program in this field.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son introduced the strengths of VNU-HUS in training in the fields of energy, semiconductor electronics and biology.

On behalf of the Faculty of Biology, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham The Hai - Vice Dean - proposed possible options of cooperating with SK Group, of which the following two were agreed:

  • 01: VNU-HUS is responsible of selecting quality candidates to send to Korea for training;
  • 02: A joint-training program between VNU-HUS and SK Group will be developed, whereby experts of the Group directly teach in the program conducted in Vietnam, then students will be sent to Korea to continue studying and researching for the rest of the program.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham The Hai also commented that SK Group's development in the field of healthcare is in line with the Biopharmaceutical major that the Faculty was about to open, so this would be a very good cooperation opportunity for both sides.
