On June 3, 2023, the Times Higher Education released the ranking of the world’s best young universities in 2023 (THE Young UR 2023). The THE Young UR is a ranking specially for the world’s best universities that are 50 years old or younger under education globalization expanding in scale and focusing on research.
This ranking uses the same methodology as the THE World University Rankings, but the weights of the performance indicators are adjusted to reflect the mission and role of young universities under education globalization expanding in scale and focusing on research. The THE Young University Rankings 2023 is based on 13 performance indicators grouped into 5 areas: Teaching (30%), Research (30%), Citations (30%), International outlook (7.5%), and Industry income (2.5%).
In this ranking, VNU continued to be given the highest score for Teaching with 23.7 points. This is the third consecutive year VNU has maintained its leading position in Vietnam in Teaching.
Overall, VNU featured in Group 351-400 globally along with 3 other higher education institutions of Vietnam (Duy Tan University, Ton Duc Thang University and VNU Ho Chi Minh City) among 605 universities from 78 countries and territories (an increase of 66 ranked institutions compared to 2022).
