On the morning of September 30, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngac An Bang, Vice-Rector of the university, along with Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Toan, Dean of the Faculty of Physics, and Dr. Le Huu Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Department for Cooperation and Development, had a meeting and exchange with representatives from the National University of Laos.

For many years, HUS has been a reputable institution consistently chosen by students and researchers from Laos for various fields of study, including Physics, Environment, Earth Sciences, etc. Doctoral candidates from Laos have completed their doctoral programs at the University of Sciences, yielding significant research results. At this time, Viengthong Xayavong, a doctoral candidate in Geophysics, successfully defended his thesis on "Application of Geophysical Methods to Survey Groundwater in Laos."
During the meeting, representatives from the National University of Laos enthusiastically shared their plans to establish and develop a doctoral program in Physics. They hope to receive support and collaboration from the University of Sciences in the upcoming period.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngac An Bang agreed to assist the National University of Laos in developing the new doctoral program. Additionally, the HUS will continue to provide the best conditions for Laotian students and doctoral candidates, including possibly the lowest fees for dormitory accommodation.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Toan expressed his willingness to provide and seek scholarship opportunities for Laotian students and doctoral candidates pursuing studies in the Faculty of Physics, HUS.
