On September 28, 2022, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Quoc Binh, Vice Rector of the University and representatives of leaders and staff of the Faculty of Mathematics - Mechanics - Informatics had a meeting with for representatives of the World Bank to discuss opportunities for collaboration
On behalf of the World Bank, Mr. Kai Kaiser - Senior Economist and Ms. Tran Thi Lan Huong - Project leader, expressed their wish to promote cooperation with VNU-HUS and its Data Science Lab in the field of data science and make it a center of Excellence. The Center was built with the aim of solving structural bottlenecks in the innovation of the public sector based on a user-centric and problem-solving design that demonstrates the effectiveness of simple tools in supporting civil servants and public employees.
This center of excellence will include the big data users and developers of VNU-HUS using Amazon's cloud computing platform and DataBricks' big data processing services. The center can seek collaboration with other key universities in the central and southern regions in research and development.

On behalf of VNU-HUS, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Quoc Binh, Vice Rector affirmed the University’s willingness to participate in the project. He hoped that by joining this project, scientists, staff and lecturers of the university can contribute to raising awareness of data socialization in Vietnam.
On behalf of the Faculty of Mathematics - Mechanics - Informatics, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pho Duc Tai remarked that participating in the project would bring good opportunities not only for lecturers but also for students of the Faculty in research and learning activities.
