Prof.Dr.Sc. Vu Hoang Linh, Rector of VNU University of Science was elected President of Vietnam Mathematical Society for the 2023-2028 term.
Recently, the 9th Congress of Vietnam Mathematical Society, term 2023-2028 was held at the University of Education, the University of Da Nang.
The Congress elected a new Executive Committee consisting of 19 members. Prof.Dr.Sc. Vu Hoang Linh was elected President of Vietnam Mathematical Society for the 2023-2028 term.
Mr. Vu Hoang Linh, an alumnus of the Mathematics Stream at the University of Hanoi (now Vietnam National University, Hanoi), earned his bachelor’s degree in Hungary.
He received a Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Budapest (Hungary) in 1998 under the supervision of Prof. Katalin Balla. He was conferred the title of professor in 2007.
From 2009 to 2011, he held a Humboldt Research Fellowship (for experienced researchers) at the Technical University of Berlin (Germany) in collaboration with Prof. Volker Mehrmann, who was the President of the European Mathematical Society from 2019 to 2022. In 2014, he successfully defended his habilitation thesis at the Technical University of Berlin.
