Celebrating 65 years of tradition of Vietnam National University - University of Science (VNU - HUS), formerly the University of Hanoi, the organizing committee of this event proudly presents the logo for this occasion.
The logo for the 65th celebration consists of three basic colors: blue, red, and white. A strong emphasis is placed on the number 65 on a stylized red book, and the initials of the university’s name. A detailed explanation is as follow:
- The small line of text that says “1956 – 2021” in blue color right above the big “5” represents the foundation date of VNU - HUS.
- The number 65 in blue color represents VNU - HUS’ 65 years of building and development from its predecessor University of Hanoi.
- The white atomic planet inside the stylized version of the University’s logo cluster symbolizes the VNU – HUS’ training and research in the fields of natural sciences.
- The (stylized) red opened book supporting the number 65 in the logo represents the contribution of VNU - HUS in training students and scientific research since its establishment until now. The book has two layers, a metaphor for two eras of VNU - HUS: The former University of Hanoi and the current day VNU - HUS. The opened book symbolizes the boundless world of knowledge that gives wings to dreams and desires to achieve the height of science. It can be seen as flapping wings, an allusion to images of students trained by the caring VNU - HUS’ board of teachers soaring in the outside world after their graduation, contributing to science and the development of Vietnam.
- The “VNU – HUS” text in blue is the abbreviation of Vietnam National University - University of Science.
The 65th anniversary of the University of Hanoi, the predecessor of VNU - HUS, is expected to take place on November 6th, 2021. Before that, a plenary session of the Scientific Conference with the theme of “Innovation based on fundamental research in VNU - HUS” will be held on November 4th, 2021.
