Two innovative projects of VNU University of Science were honored in the 2nd Proof of Concept Competition in 2017.

With the goal of transforming the challenges of climate change into business opportunities through comprehensive support of innovative entrepreneurs in the field of green and sustainable development, on April 28, this year, Vietnam Climate Innovation Center (VCIC) has launched the 2nd Proof of Concept Competition (POC2) in Vietnam, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and World Bank.

Two innovative projects of VNU University of Science were honored in the 2nd Proof of Concept Competition in 2017.

With the goal of transforming the challenges of climate change into business opportunities through comprehensive support of innovative entrepreneurs in the field of green and sustainable development, on April 28, this year, Vietnam Climate Innovation Center (VCIC) has launched the 2nd Proof of Concept Competition (POC2) in Vietnam, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and World Bank.

After more than 4 months of implementation of the POC2 Competition, 60 projects among 300 participation proposals were chosen in the second round -a potential training. And eleven examiner committees   have been working at their full capacity for 20 days to select 21 excellent projects for "The Vietnam Climate Innovation Start-ups" in 2017.

On September 20, 2017 in Hanoi - The Ministry of Science and Technology in cooperating with the World Bank organized the Award Ceremony in “The Vietnam Climate Innovation Start-ups” for honoring 21 winners of the 2nd Proof of Concept Competition (POC2).

Two innovative projects of VNU University of Science were honored in the competition, including:

1. The project “Research, manufacture and commercialization of wind turbine with wide range of wind speed, and high efficiency, low cost, TN1 for areas that are difficult to access national power grid” by Dr. Nguyen The Nghia (Faculty of Physics).

2. The project “Fabrication and commercialization of the innovative technology line for preservation of fresh agricultural products with small and medium scale in Vietnam” by Dr. Dao Thi Nhung, a representative person for a group of  Dr. Dao Thi Nhung, Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Thao and Dr. Hoang Van Ha (Faculty of Chemistry).

These two projects will receive financial support and associated services during the implementation of their projects.
