VNU University of Science (VNU-Hanoi) and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (VNU-HCM) signed an agreement on comprehensive cooperation.

VNU-HUS was represented at the event by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Noi - Rector, Prof. Dr. Sc. Nguyen Van Mau - Chairman of Science and Training Council, Prof. Dr. Phan Tuan Nghia - Vice Rector and the leaders of functional departments. HCMUT, was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong - Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Minh Phuong - Vice Rector and the leaders of functional departments.

Overview of the signing ceremony of the MOU on training and scientific research

According to the MOU, the two parties will build a long-term cooperation in the fields of: Training human resources for high-tech fields, high-tech research transfer, organizing joint-seminars, exchange of experts and students and strengthening international cooperation.

HCMUT sent an invitation to scientists of VNU-HUS to participate in academic exchanges at seminars and review for their international journals in future.

Regarding admissions, HCMUT supported and shared experiences in the enrollment in Earth Science and Geology. At the same time, the two Universities will become reputable strategic partners, working together to participate in international cooperation projects.

VNU-HUS and HCMUT (VNU-HCM) are the first two Vietnamese universities to achieve certification of accreditation by the ASEAN University Network - Quality Assurance (AUN- QA). VNU-HUS holds the leading position in basic science research and training, with outstanding international publication indices (ISI / SCOPUS international publications number more than 300 articles per year). HCMUT (VNU-HCM) has a large student body of 26,000 students and a high rate of technology transfer (VND 182 billion / year).

The signing of the cooperation agreement between the two universities is a positive step, in line with the current global trend. This is also the basis for the two institutions to agree on the principles of contribution and mutual respect to promote the realization of the potential and strength of each party, as well as to support each other to increase benefits for each party as well as the common interest of the country.
