Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Institute of Quality Assurance, VNU, Dr. Nghiem Xuan Huy said that due to difficulties caused by the Covid-19 epidemic, the traditional learning method has been gradually replaced by online learning. Therefore, during the two years affected by Covid-19, some programmes of VNU had to be assessed online by AUN-QA. Fortunately, Covid-19 has now been controlled and this year the programmes can be assessed in-person.
Besides, Mr. Huy also said that up to now, 53% of bachelor programmes at VNU's member universities have been accredited according to international standards. Of which, about 40 programmes have been accredited by AUN-QA. This shows the important role of quality accreditation in improving training quality as well as strengthening the position of VNU in general and its member universities in the regional and international higher education system.
On behalf of the AUN-QA team, Mr. Prem Anand M Arjunan thanked the units for their support during the past time in preparing and organizing this event.
