Laotian students send greetings on the occasion of Tet to the Board of Rectors and lectures of VNU University of Science (VNU-HUS)

On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year in 2019, representatives of Laotian students that are studying at the Faculty of Physics, Biology, Meteorology - Hydrology and Environmental Science (VNU-HUS) visited the Board of Rectors and lectures of VNU-HUS to send greetings on the occasion of Tet.

At the meeting, Vice Rector - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Giang and Heads of departments listened to difficulties and obstacles in studying and living faced by Lao students. They also shared their aspirations for the future.

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, the Head of the Political and Student Affairs Office proposed to establish “Student Association of VNU-HUS in Laos”. The Association will offer opportunities for Lao alumni who have studied at VNU-HUS to exchange experiences. Moreover, the Association creates an opportunity for new students from Lao to consult with alumni when they want to study abroad in Vietnam and in particular at VNU-HUS. This proposal received strong support from the representative of the Rector Board, and it is hoped that through the Association, the relationship between Lao students and VNU-HUS will be more and more stable.

Representatives of the Rector Board, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Giang asked lecturers to continue to support and create the best possible conditions for Laotian students in learning and life. The Vice Rector wished them good academic achievements, accumulated skills and useful experiences that will be valuable in serving their country on their return.

Currently there are 36 Laotian students studying at the Faculty of Physics, Biology, Meteorology - Hydrology and Environmental Science (VNU-HUS), many of whom are also  officials and lecturers of Laos National University.
