On June 27, 2023, Quacquarelli Symonds released the edition of the QS World University Rankings 2024 (QS WUR 2024). Accordingly, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) maintained its position in Top 1,000 world’s best higher education institutions according to the new ranking criteria of QS WUR.

On the afternoon of June 13, 2023, the University of Sciences, VNU Hanoi, in collaboration with the British Council, organized a seminar titled: "Enhancing the Participation of female researchers in STEM in Vietnam".

On June 3, 2023, the Times Higher Education released the ranking of the world’s best young universities in 2023 (THE Young UR 2023). The THE Young UR is a ranking specially for the world’s best universities that are 50 years old or younger under education globalization expanding in scale and focusing on research.

On June 1, 2023, the Times Higher Education (THE) announced its Impact Rankings 2023 results. Accordingly, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) has improved its rank compared to 2022, featuring in Group 401-600 globally. In particular, VNU’s Quality Education Goal made a big jump, ranked 70th globally (5th in Southeast Asia and 1st in Vietnam).

All six Vietnamese students competing at the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) 2023 won medals, including four silvers and two bronzes, in which students from VNU HUS High School for the Gifted Students won 3/4 Silver medal.

All the eight Vietnamese students won prizes at the Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad (APhO) 2023, including four bronze medals and four certificates of merit, according to the Ministry of Education and Training.

On the afternoon of May 23, 2023, at the University of Sciences, a working session with representatives from the American Museum of Natural History took place. The meeting was considered a foundational step for future collaborations to develop the university's museum system.

A Vietnamese project has won third prize at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2023 Grand Awards, making Vietnam one of 33 countries and territories to be honoured at the competition.

On the morning of May 10, 2023, the University of Sciences (VNU Hanoi) organized a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding with CTIC Vietnam Company Limited. The goal is to enhance internship opportunities for students in the Faculty of Physics and the Faculty of Chemistry while promoting cooperation between the university and the business sector.

On the morning of April 24, 2023, a delegation from the University of Valladolid, Spain had a working session with the leadership of the University of Sciences, VNU Hanoi to discuss plans for cooperation and development between the two universities.
